E. Stakem earned a AB degree from Harvard
College in 1969 and a JD degree from the University of Oklahoma. He has
been in private law practice in Oklahoma City since 1975. Ron
pursues a broad civil practice with emphasis on utility regulation,
commercial litigation and school law. At the Corporation Commission,
Ron represents national and international
telecommunications companies and local
public utilities. Ron serves as outside
counsel to the Cooperative Council of Oklahoma School Administration
which he advises on all aspects of the law of public
education. Ron represents individuals and businesses on a myriad
of personal and commercial legal
matters. As an experienced trial lawyer, Ron handles all types of personal
and commercial civil litigation in state and federal courts.
He is a also a mediator
and one of the original arbitrators for the United States District Court
for the Western District of Oklahoma. Ron has the AV rating by the Martindale-Hubbell lawyer peer-rating agency. Since 2007, he has been considered a "Super Lawyer" in Oklahoma. Long
active in professional
organizations, he served for many years on the Board of
Directors of the Oklahoma
County Bar Association and its Fee Grievance and Ethics
Committees. Ron continues as a member of Bench and Bar Committee. Ron is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and the American
Bar Association. He belongs to the OBA's Section of Public Utility Law and
Section of Litigation. Ron was a founding
member of the Work Activity Center, Inc., a non-profit sheltered
workshop for handicapped
adults, and of the Meadowbrook Acres Center
for Independent Living, a non-profit independent
residential home for handicapped men and women. Ron belongs to the
Rotary Club of Oklahoma City - Club 29. He is the past Chairman
of the Schools and Scholarship Committee for the Harvard Club of Oklahoma City.
He also finds time for numerous other charitable and civic activities. |
